Yesterday at DELLWorld, Brett Roscoe, executive director of data management solutions at Dell announced the integration of the newly acquired products in the vStart offering. This explicitly means that Dell Force 10 networking and Dell Compellent storage will be available as part of the vStart offering in 2012.
vStart is DELL’s Virtual Integrated System Architecture also referenced as converged infrastructure, a preconfigured solution aimed at SMB which allows to build out your virtual infrastructure without the need to be a virtualization expert. The solution is pre-sized, pre-racked, pre-cabled and pre-tested. vStart hardware includes servers, storage, networking, power, cabling and the rack. Customers can choose between VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
